Mark Petrie

Mark Petrie joined CIBC Capital Markets in 2005 and currently holds the position
of Research Analyst, Merchandising and Consumer Products. Prior to 2005 Mr. Petrie worked at one of Canada’s largest retailers in a number of departments including New Business Development, Corporate Strategy and Retail Finance. Mr. Petrie holds an Honours B. Comm from McMaster University and is a CFA charterholder.

Giancarlo Trimarchi

Giancarlo Trimarchi is a Partner of Vince’s Market, a regional independent grocer with four locations and a central commissary surrounding the Greater Toronto Area and a current member of the Board of Directors for CFIG. Giancarlo is a second-generation grocer and his primary responsibilities are as the organization’s Chief Financial Officer and Director of Marketing. Having grown up in the business, Giancarlo learned that their business was only as strong as the team that supported it.

Stewart Samuel

Stewart joined IGD in the U.K. in 2005 and transferred to Vancouver, Canada in 2009. He is an expert on Canadian and U.S. food retailer strategies and market trends. He also works on developing our customer base in those markets, meeting regularly with retailers and manufacturers. He is a regular presenter at international conferences, a media commentator and works on our customized services, focusing particularly on the North American market. He has led several international study tours in the U.S. and Canada.

Rory Capern

Rory Capern has spent more than 20 years at the intersection of Canada’s Technology, Media and Communications industries, working with some of the fastest companies in the world. Most recently as Managing Director of Twitter Canada, Rory was responsible for all aspects of Twitter’s business in Canada and a member of Twitter’s Global Leadership team. He led Google Canada’s large partnerships function for 5 years before that. He has served in Business Development and Strategy functions at a number of Canadian tech and media companies including Microsoft Canada, Torstar and Bell Canada.

James Fraser

For over 16 years and in his role as CPMA President, Mr. Lemaire has worked to represent the needs and interests of over 850 international and Canadian members who are responsible for 90% of the fresh fruit and vegetable sales in Canada.

Mr. Lemaire’s professional background brings a range of diversified experiences ranging from association management and governance, strategic and corporate development, government relations, marketing, advertising and communications, public private partnerships and capacity building.

Ron holds a combined Bachelor’s Degree from Carleton University in both Sociology and Law.

Matthew Diamond

Matthew Diamond has a wealth of knowledge garnered on the client and agency side in his two decades of experience in the marketing world. Currently as EVP, he leads the Mosaic Toronto office in Liberty Village, overseeing all integrated marketing services, including Hunter Straker, the Shopper Agency that Mosaic acquired 5 years ago. Prior to joining Hunter Straker, Diamond was a Partner at Capital C for nearly a decade. He started his career as a Brand Manager at Kraft Canada, as well as working at the NHLPA and an internet start-up. Matthew is one of Canada’s top thought leaders in his field, including: Current Faculty at IVEY Business School, teaching the top ranked MBA elective course on the future of marketing; Board Member of ICA (Institute of Communication Agencies); frequent author and conference speaker; and Past-Chairman and President of CAPMA.
